Pentagram Mini-Docu

Paula Scher, yes, but more Michael!
A little film about Pentagram design firm
and their wonderfully innovative, unique management structure.
to the left:
I first saw Paul Morrison's work at the MoMA, and it stuck with me. Its simplicity and elligance really proves that simple (done properly) is as effective as complexity.

a book about punk houses

Seems like a no brainer if you've ever been in one(aka hungout at all in bushwick, or new brunswick) NY times article

The Iowa Caucus is exciting. Possibly more exciting than Santa (even sub 9 years old), but also more disheartening. Obamas win for the Democrats was important, but still marginal, as for Mike Huckabee taking home the GOP majority-- save us now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

its been some time.
been making, knitting, sewing, catching up with people, listening to johnny cash, staying out of cities(sort of), reading. breaks are nice. trying to do more fine art, less design. embroidering canvas, painting, constructing. blahblahblah.
my resolutions are essentially doing all of these things more, and volunteering more.
interesting:

paintings of wants, and their prices are the approximate prices of those things in their tangible forms.

Creepy? Endearing? Endearingly Creepy?
FREE RICE

a vocabulary recognition game(ok) that donates 10 grains of rice to third world countries everytime you get a word right (awesome). the only one that loses is my laundry, exams, and anything else i should be doing while i continue to improve my verbal prowess!

top 5 websites/blogs as of late:
05 skull-a-day
04 glassbooth
03 book by its cover
02 design observer
01 igoogle

why igoogle? because i just discovered it, and its everything i ever wanted from a search engine PLUS novelty graphics that clutter the space/make it so dang endearing.

effective marketing? or future installation?
